The Danish was born from a transatlantic love story. One of us grew up in Denmark, where mornings mean warm kanelsnegle from the local bageri, coffee in proper porcelain cups, and a quiet reverence for doing things the right way—slowly, carefully, beautifully. The other grew up in the American South, where food is how you say “I love you,” where hospitality means making everyone feel welcome, and where community is built one shared meal at a time.
We met, fell in love, and eventually built a life together in Atlanta. But there was something we missed—something flaky, buttery, and impossible to find outside Denmark. The kind of pastry that stops you mid-bite. The kind of smørrebrød that turns lunch into a moment of hygge. We looked everywhere for it. Then we decided to make it ourselves.
The Danish is our tribute to real Danish baking and café culture, shared in the city we now call home. It’s not a recreation or interpretation. It’s our personal offering—of heritage, hospitality, and the belief that something beautiful and honest can still be made by hand, every single day.
We hope you’ll taste the difference. Feel the warmth. And find something worth coming back for.
Our hours may vary during holidays, so be sure to check online or give us a call for any updates. We look forward to celebrating the seasons with you!
